26,000 Weeks of Service and 182,000 Miles of Scooting
In the last 3 years our knee walkers have helped over 5,000 patients which tally’s at over 26,000 weeks of service being knelt on and keeping that lower leg and foot off the floor and non-weight bearing. Even at a modest 1 mile a day (I know, especially some of you on the Orthomate knee scooter might cover much more) this is a whopping 182,000 miles of scooting. I find it really doubtful if that would have been possible on crutches.
These sort of distances are quite incredible – that is the equivalent of scooting around the circumference of the moon 27 times. I would not recommend the StrideOn model for that task! Even on earth, 7 times around the equator is going to be a challenge and even the robust Orthomate knee scooter wheels are going to need replacing many times.
